Achiever Institute is an organization that encourages children to explore their interests and their imaginations in a safe, happy, caring, and wholesome environment. Students are encouraged to be creative, expressive, and curious under the guidance of highly qualified and experienced instructors. Achiever Institute strives to develop students who can better appreciate the world around them through exposure to and understanding of different cultures, art, science, theater, and music. By developing social, learning, and communication skills, we hope to help foster confident children who are interested and able to continue enriching their lives for many years to come.

WE BELIEVE IN
Inspiring creative thinking
We believe creative thinking is key in everything we do. Creativity is not only used in art, dance, or music but is implemented throughout all aspects of life. Creative thinking is essential for science, mathematical, business, social and emotional intelligence. We believe that being creative allows our kids to be more flexible and emerge as better problem solvers. Encouraging them to question everything during our classes, teaching them multiple ways to solve a math problem, triggering their curiosity during recess, and encouraging them to use our library to read for fun are a few examples on how we incorporate creative thinking into our classrooms.

Encouraging independent learning
We believe that fostering independent learners is important because this is a skill that will help our students become life long learners. We give our students different responsibilities. One way that we develop independent learners is through our student-teachers. We give some of our students the responsibility to teach. This not only improves their oral communication skills but other students might learn more when they are being taught by a classmate. We also provide librarian rolls where our students are given the responsibility to help maintain and monitor the library. We hope they will gain skills that allow them to take initiative and become independent leader.

Raising respectful students
Our goal is not only to help our students develop intellectually but we also want them to grow up to be kind and respectful humans. Our students are continually reminded to respect and show gratitude towards each other, their teachers, and the school. We encourage all our students to finish their lunch so they learn not to be wasteful. We believe in honesty and when there is a misunderstanding amongst our students, we encourage them to have an open discussion.

Fostering cooperative learning
We encourage our students to work together by promoting small group or whole class activities. Allowing them to verbally express their ideas we hope to help our students develop their self-confidence, fosters respect, as well as enhancing their communication and critical thinking skills. Brainstorming topics in writing class, brainstorming business ideas in our entrepreneurship camp, and acting out short sketches in our drama/speech classes are just a few examples of how we incorporate cooperative learning into our programs.

  1. Hello! I’d like to know about your summer camps for this year. I have two daughters who are in the Mandarin Immersion Program at Azevada Elementary. Annette will be attending Hopkins next year to continue with MIP, and Nora will be in 4th grade. Thank you.
